On Monday afternoon, emergency crews reported a crash involving a fire truck and a drunk driver off Soldiers Pathway.
According to Georgia State Patrol troopers, the fire truck was traveling on GA-3 in the left lane when a Dodge van traveling in the right lane, opposite the fire engine, pulled out in front of the truck, causing it to turn on its side.
The driver of the Dodge van fled the crash scene.
The Georgia State Patrol reported that the driver was soon arrested and was believed to be under the influence of alcohol.
The driver is now facing DUI charges along with multiple other traffic-related accounts.
The firefighter was taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok.
