Authorities are investigating a deadly crash in DeKalb County early Sunday morning, May 10, 2020, that resulted in the death of a seventeen-year-old.
The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. during a police chase involving Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. Two vehicles collided on the north side of Moreland Avenue with severe damage. Not far from the collision was a Clayton County Sheriff’s Office vehicle with minor damage to the back left side.
The Georgia State Patrol said the 17-year old driver was killed when the vehicle being pursued by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office struck their vehicle. The 19-year-old passenger in that vehicle was also critically injured.
Further investigation is being conducted by Georgia State Patrol and the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.
